how to think: Radio Silence

  • Institute of Contemporary Arts The Mall, London, England, SW1Y 5AH United Kingdom (map)

Panel Event

On November 27th 2021, we are proud to be hosting ‘Radio Silence’ in partnership with the ICA, Frames of Representation festival and Academy of Theatre & Dance, Amsterdam.

An annual highlight of the Frames of Representation festival is the day-long symposium, which this year takes the form of a community radio broadcast hosted at the ICA in London. ‘Radio Silence’ brings together intimate and informal contributions from artists, thinkers, activists and healers in a day-long listening event that is all about slowing down and being-with. The day will include shared listening, as well as moments of gentle discussion, nourishment, and a screening of the film Tío Yim by Zapotec director Luna Marán.

Artists involved include Alexa Mardon, Alexandrina Hemsley, Andrea Luka Zimmerman, Fili 周 Gibbons, Khairani Barokka, Nahuel Cano, Omikemi, Paula Montecinos, Rajni Shah, Reza Mirabi, Sheila Ghelani, and Venuri Perera.

There will be a parallel event happening simultaneously at DAS Graduate School in Amsterdam.

For the ICA event, please book here.

For the DAS event, please email marilixe.beernink@ahk.nl

‘Radio Silence’ is led by Rajni Shah with Astrid Korporaal and Laura Cull Ó Maoilearca.

This event follows on from the how to think podcast and replaces the symposium we originally planned to host at the ICA in April 2020.
